Frank A. Cania is president of driven HR, a Pittsford, NY-based human resource consulting firm. A business and HR professional for more than 30 years, Frank’s professional passion, and primary focus is on helping business owners, managers, and other HR professionals navigate the complexities of state and federal regulatory compliance.

Frank graduated summa cum laude from the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University with a Master’s Degree in Employment Law. In addition, he holds a certificate in workplace investigations from the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI-CH), and is certified by the HR Certification Institute as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and by the Society for Human Resource Management as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

Frank is a frequent speaker on HR-related topics, and has presented at a number of workshops and conferences sponsored by professional organizations such as The Business Council of New York State, the NYS Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and several local SHRM chapters.  Frank is also a monthly columnist for The Daily Record newspaper, author of, An Employer’s Guide to Compliance with New York Correction Law, Article 23-A, and a contributor to an HR textbook. He has worked as a subject matter expert and presenter for several web-based training series by Skillsoft, an international provider of e-Learning solutions, and taught college-level classes in employment law.

A dedicated husband, and proud father of an adult son and daughter, Frank believes strongly in sharing his time and talents through active volunteer roles.  He currently serves as federal advocacy director for the NYS SHRM council, team captain for the SHRM National Legislative Advocacy Team, and is a member of the SHRM National Labor Relations Panel. In addition, Frank is a member of the executive compensation and human resource committees for the YMCA of Greater Rochester.
